Comfort & Care Packages

Our SuperSibs! Comfort and Care Program provides vital emotional healing tools to help siblings 1) strengthen self-esteem 2) enable them to function (socially, in school and personally) during and long after this debilitating life challenge 3) provide parents and support teams with resources to ensure appropriate and effective on-site support.

It is SuperSibs! mission to provide a barrier-free service to siblings of children with cancer. We do not place additional burden on already financially, logistically and emotionally drained parents, as we "meet children where they are" -- at their mailboxes -- with personal Comfort and Care Program elements up to ten times throughout the year.

Each child receives age-appropriate, specially-designed materials (approximately 10 times the first year, 8 times in years 2-3, and four times in their 4th year, with twice yearly communications thereafter) to reassure siblings that they’re not alone, and to help them manage through this turbulent time.

Each package validates the child’s feelings, provides insight and encouragement to reach out for support, and offers recognition for their uniqueness and importance in their family.

Our SuperSibs! Comfort and Care Program has been specifically designed with input from siblings and parents across the U.S. and Canada (young and teen age focus groups), as well as child-life specialists, pediatric oncology social workers and oncology nurses.
